Privacy Policy

The short version
CivicsPrep doesn’t have user accounts, doesn’t ask for your name or email to use the practice quiz, and doesn’t sell any data. Your quiz progress (which questions you’ve missed before) is stored only in your own browser’s local storage — it never reaches our servers and we have no way to see it. The sections below cover the third-party services that do process some data on our behalf: advertising, analytics, and payment for optional Study Packs.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or generally at aboutads.info/choices. Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see aggregate page-view counts and which pages are popular. It’s designed to be privacy-friendly: it doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t track you individually across sites. We don’t use it to build a profile of any individual visitor.
Study Pack purchases (Polar.sh)
If you buy a Study Pack, the checkout and payment are handled entirely by Polar.sh, our merchant-of-record payment processor. We never see or store your card number. Polar collects your email (to deliver the purchase and license key) and billing information necessary to process the payment and applicable taxes; see Polar’s own privacy policy for how they handle it.
What we store locally, on your device
The practice quiz uses your browser’s localStorage to remember which questions you’ve gotten wrong before, so it can show them to you more often. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is cleared if you clear your browser’s site data.
Your rights
Since we don’t maintain user accounts or a database of personal information tied to your identity, there’s generally no personal data of yours for us to export or delete beyond what you’ve given a third party directly (Google or Polar) — use their respective settings/support channels for that. If you believe we hold something about you that isn’t covered above, contact us and we’ll look into it.
Changes to this policy
If how we use third-party services changes in a way that affects your data, we’ll update this page and the date above.
